Big 33 Game Will Stay A Pennsylvania/Ohio Affair....At Least in 2007

Big 33 officials have voted to keep Ohio as Pennsylvania's opponent...at least for 2007. The Big 33's vote came on the heels of some disappointment from the Pennsylvania camp that Ohio may not have supplied its best roster because the Big 33 Game fell on the same weekend as the Buckeye State's very popular North-South intrastate all-star game in Columbus.

There was talk that game officials were considering replacing Ohio with Maryland, which took part in one of the best high school football all-star games in the country. The PA stars played Maryland from 1985 through 1992. Next year's game will be the 50th Big 33 Game.

One interesting note on this game is that every Super Bowl played has included a representative from the Big 33 Game.

Pennsylvania All-Stars Outscore Ohio Stars In Big 33 Game

Pennsylvania scored 40 unanswered points to snap a three-game losing streak to Ohio in its annual Big 33 Game in Hershey, Pennsylvania Saturday night. The Keystone State's 61-42 win may be the last between the state's because this year's game fell on the same night at Ohio's traditional North-South All-Star Game, and many felt that Ohio was sending its "B Team" because most of the top players chose to stay at home and play in the intra-state game in Columbus.

That controversy aside, but team put on quite a performance in the 49th Big 33 Game that holds the distinction of have a particpant play in every Super Bowl.
