Louisville High AD Addresses Controversial Call on Show of Emotion

Louisville High School athletic director Rich Venuto gets my vote for being a Class Act!

Below you can watch a FOX 8 Cleveland report on how Venuto handled a penalty call that may have cost his school a win against Walsh Jesuit last Friday.

Louisville took a 26-24 lead with 1:15 when Alex Schooley caught a touchdown pass.  However, moments later the team was penalized for excessive celebration when a couple of players pointed their fingers to the sky.

According to reports, what wasn't known at the time, was the players were paying tribute to a close friend, who died on August 22nd.

Walsh Jesuit ended-up winning the game 27-26 after kicking a field goal as time expired.

Watch the report from FOX 8's Dave Nethers to see how Venuto handles the situation with class by saying that the official was simply doing his job by following the celebration rule.
