De La Salle Doesn't Show Respect To Elder(s)

Yes you're supposed to respect your elders, but De La Salle, the #5 team in the USA Today Super 25, didn't care about Elder's high Ohio ranking. De La Salle junior quarterback Mike MacGillivray ran for four touchdown and threw two others to lead the Spartans to a 56-38 win in the McDonald's Kirk Herbstreit Ohio Vs. USA Challenge.

#25 Colerain Opens Ohio Vs. USA Challenge With Win

For the second straight year, Colerain did Ohio high school football proud in the Kirk Herbstreit Ohio Vs. USA Challenge.

Last year, Colerain, which was the defending 2004 Division I Ohio Champs, beat Tyler Lee (Texas) 27-12 in The Challenge. Friday night, the Cardinals, who are ranked #25 in the latest USA Today Super 25, beat Philadelphia's Cardinal O'Hara 28-0.

The win improved Colerain to 4-0 on the season.

First Associated Press Ohio High School Football Rankings Released

With 146 teams unbeaten through the opening three weeks, the rankings were close throughout — although St. Xavier amassed a 102-point advantage over No. 2 Canton McKinley in Division I.

Mooney leads Coldwater by just one point in Division IV, while Alter has a 10-point lead on Columbus DeSales in III and St. Henry is ahead of Hamler Patrick Henry by 15 points in V.

The poll will continue for eight weeks, with state champions crowned on Oct. 31 just before the start of the playoffs.
