As is usually the case in the Cleveland and Cincinnati areas of Ohio high school football, it's hard to make it to the Division 1 state championship game because of the quality of teams in the state's two biggest cities.
That will be the case this year as four top-notch teams...Glenville (#18 USA Today Super 25), Elder (#19 USA Today), St. Ignatius and Colerain all worthy of taking home a Division 1 championship trophy. In the case of Glenville and St. Ignatius, the season will come to a close for one of the Cleveland-area schools tomorrow when they meet for the second time this season.
St. Ignatius began the season in the USA Today poll, but lost to Glenville 20-17. Since that loss, both teams have run the table.

While nationally-ranked Glenville and Elder cruised to easy first round wins in the Ohio state football playoffs, Colerain, which spent several weeks in the national polls, survived a scare to advance to next week's Region 4 semifinals. The top ranked Cardinals beat Moeller 17-10 when linebacker Tyon Dixon returned a fumble 88 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. According to a report in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Moeller head coach John Rodenberg wasn't happy with the call, believing that the fumble came after the play ended.
