Glenville Reportedly to Play Dwyer (FL) High School in Herbstreit

Officials of the Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series are not confirming the report, but the Palm Beach Post is reporting that 2009 Ohio Division I runner-up Glenville will play Dwyer HIgh School, Florida's reigning 4A champ in one of four games scheduled September 5th and 6th at Ohio Stadium on the campus of Ohio State.

Also, on Monday, September 6th, four games will be played in Texas at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

Brunswick HS Expects to Name New Football Coach Next Week

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that Luke Beal is expected to be named Brunswick's new head football coach next week.

The Blue Devils job opened-up when Rich Nowak retired last month after 18-years and a 152-49 record.

Glenville Coaching Staff Downsized

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that Glenville head coach Ted Ginn will have to get rid of his 11 volunteer coaches, because the Cleveland School District only allows a team to have a head coach and four paid assistants.

According to the report, no volunteers are permitted in any high school sport.

New Football Coach Named for Lorain Southview/Admiral King Merger

Lorain Southview head football coach Todd Auvil will be the new head coach this fall when Southview and Admiral King merge.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Auvil was chosen over Admiral King coach Mike Akers.

Bors Leaving West Geauga for Another Ohio High School

After a 21-8 record with West Geauga, Dave Bors is leaving for another job.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that Bors is in-line to get the Riverside job. His hiring will be voted-on by the Riverside school board later this month.
