Ohio High School Football Huddle
I don't know whether to call it the end of 2010 or the start of 2011, but high school football was in the air Friday in Columbus.
It was the 66th annual Ohio North-South Classic all-star football game...and in the end for the seniors ending their high school football careers, it was the South players that walked off the field with a victory.
The South beat the North stars 25-7 for its second straight win in the series. The North still leads the all-time series 38-25 with three ties.
Akron-bound Tyler Williams of Colerain High School scored two touchdowns to win the South MVP award. Westerville South running back Jayshon Jackson, who was the North's MVP, was the game's leading rusher with 115 yards on 13 carriers.

North Beats South in Ohio All-Star Football Classic
by Jeff Fisher
Ohio High School Football Huddle
Ohio State-bound and South All-Star quarterback Verlon Reed of Marion-Franklin High School was awarded MVP trophy Friday night in the North-South All-Star Classic at Ohio Stadium, but it wasn't enough as the North squad won the game 23-20
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Reed won the award despite a subpar performance for him. Reed ran the ball five times for 45-yards and a score was completing only one of seven passes for 10 yards.
Game MVP: Verlon Reed (Marion-Franklin)
South Offensive MVP: Jack Tomlinson (Westerville South)
South Defensive MVP: Jibreel Black (Cincinnati Wyoming)
North Offensive MVP: Chase Hammond (Youngstown Boardman)
North Defensive MVP: Jewone Snow (Canton McKinley)

Ohio North-South Classic Tees It Up Friday Night in Columbus
by Jeff Fisher
Ohio High School Football Huddle
72 of the top high school football players in Ohio will suit-up tomorrow night for America's longest running all-star high school football game.
The Ohio North-South Classic will kick-off in the Horseshoe at Ohio State at 7 P.M. The game was moved from its usual June date so it no longer conflicted with the Big 33 Classic, which pits Ohio vs. Pennsylvania.
The Columbus Dispatch has a quick look at some of the key players in the game.
